Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred
2-4 years of accounting experience, public accounting experience is a plus
Background in lease accounting or experience reading agreements and contracts related to accounting.
General corporate accounting knowledge, including reviewing profit and loss (P&L) statements, balance sheets, accruals, and prepaids.
Familiarity with accounting standard codification, particularly knowledge of ASC 842, which deals with lease accounting.
Experience with international partners: The role involves working with decentralized international partners, ideal candidate should have experience dealing with multiple systems, people, cultures, and backgrounds.
Timeliness and attention to detail: The candidate should be able to work with international partners to ensure timely and accurate submission of financial data. Attention to detail is crucial in reviewing and verifying the ASC 842 balances.
Experience training on accounting topics such as finance lease testing and straight-line accounting.
Effective communication skills and experience working with business partners, auditors, and other stakeholders to explain accounting treatments and resolve any accounting-related issues.

Performs general accounting activities in accordance with ASC-842 Leases at the Business Services Center for our Americas, Airports, and International Segments. This role applies ASC 842 guidance by interpreting and analyzing information on leases, amendments, assignments, and other legal documents in accordance with departmental procedures.

Understands and applies the accounting for lease transactions in accordance with ASC 842 – Leases.
Reads and interprets agreements to assist in determining the proper ASC 842 Accounting.
Performs general ledger month-end close activities including perform and review journal entries, variance analysis, and reconciliations.
Properly applies GAAP and internal accounting controls and procedures to daily work
Reviews deliverables to ensure accuracy in reporting and recording
Documents accounting conclusions in accounting memos
Helps ensure timely completion of month end close process
Provides quality customer service to markets and other departments, including but not limited to inquiries and documentation requests.
Trains markets in lease deliverables and participates in quarterly trainings
Identifies and escalates problematic lease language that is financially detrimental or difficult to efficiently administer; prepares analysis of financial impact.
Prepares audit workpapers for internal and external auditors with direction and assistance of managers.
Work on special projects and ad-hoc requests as they arise

Continuously suggests process improvements and procedures as the business evolves to implement improvements in policy, procedure, and systems.
Ensures documentation is consistently and continuously updated as part of best practice of maintaining documentation.
Ensures documentation and data accumulation standards are documented and enforced
